Forgiveness is often seen as a singular act, a quick decision to move on from past hurts.

However, from my experience as a therapist and also a woman whose endured a lot of negative and traumatic experiences with others throughout my life (a lot), I’ve learned that forgiveness is more accurately described as a process - an evolving journey that requires time, self-awareness, and compassion ( a lot of compassion).
